Ensemble: Mad for Vintage Plaid

Plaid Summer Outfit by Hepcat Hannah

Mad for plaid, and mad for mustard.  You can see why this ensemble makes me all warm and fuzzy inside!  It’s got that mustard that just pops, and a vintage plaid shirt that’s perfect for hot summer days.  This is an outfit I’d wear to a cookout or picnic.  Someplace where there’d be a nice campfire in the evening, and plenty of marshmallows to roast (or is it toast?).  Can’t you visualize it?  The nighttime coolness, a subtle breeze, the crackling fire… Ah, I’m craving it right now.

These 1980s pants are a new addition to my vintage clothing collection.  And listen friend, have I got a superb piece of vintage shopper news for you.  I have found me a new place to buy affordable vintage clothes.  It’s not the local thrift store, it’s not Ebay, and it’s not Etsy.  While those are great places to shop for said clothes, it never hurts to find yet another place with great deals.   And the site I found these jeans on is… *fanfare*  www.Rusty Zipper.com.

Here’s a curious question for you:  If while reading Alice in Wonderland outside, and you fall asleep… Will you dream you are in Wonderland?

My little farm friends!  Aren’t they cute?  This is Olivia, our very old kitty.  And the chicken is called Speckles, and (surprisingly) we’re rather close.  For the simple reason that I sometimes share snacks with her while I’m hanging out on the hammock.  Her favorite snack is brownies.

Bloopers // Behind the Scenes

I’ve decided to add a new regular tidbit to my fashion posts – Behind the scenes!  This is where all the goofy pictures are.  All those mishaps or silliness that get caught on camera as I take pictures all by my lonesome with a camera timer. 😛

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the difficulties involved with successfully climbing in and out of a hammock?  Over and over and over again… 😂

Life Update:

I know the blog has been rather dormant these past months, and I’m real sorry about that!  It’s been difficult to maintain consistency lately, as I am hard at work writing my novel.  Being a creative through and through, I have to wear many hats.  Which is great, I love it!  But sadly, I just can’t do everything all the time.  As much as I try to!

Hopefully in the near future I’ll be able to perfect my “creative pursuits balancing act.”  After all, wasn’t it my goal for this year to find balance, as a traveler and in life in general?  Here’s hoping I do.  At least enough to help me be able to work on my novel and keep up with the blog.

I have decided to take part in the #VintageSummerChallenge on Instagram, being put on by Faces and Style.  And thanks to this challenge, I do have a rekindled interest in doing more photo shoots.  Which in turn results in lovely blog posts like this one.  Wish me luck! 😉
And stay tuned for more outfits on both the blog and definitely on my IG feed, @HepcatHannah.

About Hannah

Hannah is a vintage girl with two things always on her mind: Traveling & Books. When she’s not out exploring the world, she is at home on her parent’s farm in the Ozarks, planning her next adventure or writing romantic fiction. The travel bug hit her at an early age, and she skipped the college scene in favor of a career in travel blogging. Hannah loves jazz music, is slightly obsessed about her INFJ personality type, and is a lot quieter in person than she is in the blogosphere. Until you get to know her, that is.

  1. I really like mustard yellow, however; my mother did not like that color at all–to each his own.

Looks like quite a balancing act just getting out of that hammock.
